Printing test sheets
Outputting a test sheet on plain
paper when you're creating printed labels, fabric sheets, greeting cards,
and anything else out of the ordinary is important. Not only will you save
special and more expensive media (such as card stock, photo paper, and
fabric), but you will also have the chance to make sure everything on the
page is the way you want it. Think of it as a rough draft!
- Check to make sure any designs are on the expected side
of the paper.
- Assess the color and clarity to determine if your
printer settings are appropriate.
- Be sure that images and text fit on the page.
- Determine whether all the elements are arranged
correctly. For example, if you're printing a greeting card, fold the
test page the same way you fold the greeting card paper.
- Use your test sheet as the final opportunity to
proofread anything you've written or examine photos and designs to see
if you want to make changes.
