HP Photosmart Essential Quick tip

Choosing paper settings

It’s important to choose a photo paper that’s made to work with your printer. And it’s just as important to choose a paper-type setting that’s made to work with your paper.

Paper-type settings (one of your Printer Setting options) generally control the amount of ink that is put on the paper. Make sure you’re using the right one for your chosen paper. The Plain Paper setting uses the least ink, while the Glossy Film and Photo Paper settings use the most to provide more vivid output. When you find a setting that works for a particular paper type, take note so you’ll be able to get the same results when you use the paper again.
