polarloess
Polar loess smoothing for variables X and Y. This does a bivariate smooth.
Input Arguments:
- X and Y are vectors containing the observed bivariate data.
- ALPHA is the smoothing parameter.
- DEG is is the degree of the local fit (1 or 2)..
Output Arguments:
- XHAT and YHAT are the fitted values that can be used to superimpose a curve over the scatterplot.
